Kajar Kunin village is still recovering from the effects of last Sunday’s Semeru volcano eruption, as neighbours tried to evacuate their belongings from their houses and cleaning tasks took off on Monday.

Footage taken on Tuesday shows the city’s streets flooded with dried lava and debris from the eruption. Locals removed their belongings, such as furniture and decorative items, or assessed the damage to the city’s infrastructure, while excavators cleaned up the remains of the blast.

After the Semaru volcano, the highest in Indonesia, erupted on Sunday early morning, at least 2,000 people were reportedly evacuated. The number of victims remains unknown.
