Russian President Vladimir Putin has ‘failed demonstrably to break’ Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), said the US Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during a ministerial meeting of the group in Lodz, on Thursday.
“Just as Putin has failed to break Ukraine with his vicious invasion, with his war crimes and human rights abuses … so too, Putin and Russia have failed demonstrably to break the OSCE.”
The remarks came as Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was unable to attend the meeting because Poland did not grant Russian delegation visas.
Lavrov on Thursday accused the organisation’s former and current presidency of “subordinating the OSCE to the interests of the USA and Brussels”.
