China’s southern manufacturing hub Guangzhou remained under lockdown with barriers, in an effort to stamp out a widening COVID outbreak, as seen in the footage filmed in city’s Haizhu district on Friday.

Footage shows empty roads surrounded by barriers meant to confine residents to their homes, and food delivery drivers handing foods to customers.

Over 9,000 new cases have been reported in Guangzhou on Thursday, according to the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission.
