German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender are paying an official visit to the Republic of Korea from November 3rd to 6th.
Steinmeier was received on Friday at the president’s office in Seoul by his Korean counterpart, President Yoon Suk-yeol.
The German president held political talks with his Korean counterpart on the first day of the visit, and met with German and South Korean entrepreneurs to discuss about the challenges shared by both societies,
In their first meeting, the two leaders reportedly discussed multiple issues including efforts to resume dialogue with North Korea, supply chain cooperation and the war in Ukraine.
This is the first visit by a German President in four years.
