Extinction Rebellion ‘XR’ eco activists marched down Park Avenue to stage a die-in demonstration in front of BlackRock multi-national investment company headquarters to protest against climate change policies.
Footage filmed in New York City on Friday shows protesters chanting and holding placards while marching towards the BlackRock headquarters. Demonstrators could also be seen laid down in front of the company’s entrance while being observed by NYPD officers to show their opposition to current policies regarding climate change.
“I’m here because the world is burning because my generation doesn’t have a future I’m going to be chasing right now. And these people only care about short-term profit. And the system serves them as currently setup,” shared one of protesters.
