The activity was slowly coming back to the TotalEnergies Feyzin oil refinery near Lyon on Monday, after the French government decided to requisition the site.
“There are already some trucks charging fuel, they are charging. And there will be more coming today for sure,” said Djamel, a fuel deliverer.
He added, “We understand the demands of our colleagues (on strike). Because it is not just about the salaries.”
French unions call for citizens to join the workers blockage to refineries. With workers’ strikes continuing at TotalEnergies and Esso-ExxonMobil, fuel shortages have hit gas stations across France, causing frustration and long waits for motorists.
