The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, carrying the Crew-5 mission, is set to dock with the International Space Station on Thursday, October 6. The live coverage will include the docking, hatch opening and the welcoming ceremony.
NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina and JAXA’s Koichi Wakata make up the four-person crew.
Kikina, the only active female cosmonaut representing the Russian Federation, is also the first Russian to ride in the Dragon capsule. She was selected in July 2022 for this mission as part of the Soyuz-Dragon crew swap system between Roscosmos and NASA.
The capsule launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday, attached to a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
