Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Dusseldorf on Saturday for a demonstration against the federal government’s handling of soaring energy prices in Germany.
Demonstrators were seen standing outside the city’s Villa Horion building holding signs and waving German flags while event organisers addressed them with microphones.
“We make a demo every Saturday because we do not agree with the current policies of the government, the country and the federal government. We are especially critical at the moment against the energy price increases,” said Mouna, one of the organisers of the demonstration.
“Of course, we are very critical of that. You can see that the federal and state government is making a misguided energy policy, and a misguided economic policy. We have to change that,” she added.
