USA: Victims’ families and friends gather at Ground Zero in NYC to mark anniversary of 9/11 attack

Family members and friends of 9/11 attack victims gathered at the Ground Zero, National September 11 Memorial & Museum, to commemorate their loved ones who died in the attack and have their names read aloud during the 21st-anniversary ceremony, on Sunday.

“Feels like yesterday. Oh man, you never forget. You remember all your friends, you know what I mean? I lost five friends at the Trade Center, very sad day,” said Bobby, a firefighter.

The 9/11 terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people, and the19 al-Qaeda terrorists responsible for hijacking planes, in addition to more than 6,000 others who were wounded and got sick from inhaling smoke from fires and toxic fumes.
