If you’re a recently engaged bride-to-be, one of the most important – and indeed exciting tasks – is choosing the perfect dress for your special day. Luckily, an abundance of new trends are set to come to the fore in 2023, including intricate detailing, lace capes, draped fabrics, voluminous skirts and two in one gowns to name but a few.
With Ireland’s largest Bridal exhibition, the Bride of the Year Show, just around the corner, we asked Aine Delaney, from award-winning Dublin based bridal boutique, La Bella Sposa, for her advice on how to stay ‘on trend’ for your big day.
Exposed bodice/boning
Visible corsets are one of the most captivating trends of the season! They can transform any look from sultry to sophisticated with a single piece of clothing. The sheer exposed boning accents create a subtle yet striking effect that can be incorporated into any bridal style. They add a timeless, romantic touch to any bridal look and can be the perfect way to add some elegance and femininity to your wedding day ensemble.
High neckline
High-neck wedding dresses are designed to accentuate your collarbone, resulting in an effortlessly elegant style. Ultra-chic and regal, high-neck dresses are perfect for the bride who wants a timeless and modest look. This has been a big trend in recent celebrity nuptials with the likes of Jennifer Lopez donning a high-neck Ralph Lauren dress and ‘Emily in Paris’ star Lily Collins opting for a lace turtleneck gown with a hooded cape.
Combi – dress
The two in one wedding dress is still hugely popular this upcoming season. This style of dress not only gives you more value for money, but it also allows you to transition seamlessly from ceremony to reception without needing to change. This style can include a detachable skirt, removable sleeves, and stunning floor length capes.
Shimmer and Sparkle
If you’re looking for a show-stopping bridal look, then look no further than a shimmer and sparkle wedding dresses. This glamorous trend is ideal for any bride who wants to make a romantic statement on her special day. Whether you’re getting married during the holidays or just want to add a touch of glitz to your big day, a sparkle wedding gown is the perfect way to do it.
Capes
Lace capes are already very much in style, and it’s expected to continue into 2023, with a focus on more intricate and unique designs. More commonly, brides-to-be are searching for dresses with elaborate details and statement capes to make their look truly unique and special.
