Hundreds of Tunisian fans gathered in front of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Wednesday to celebrate the historic 1-0 victory over France at the FIFA World Cup. However, the victory was not enough for Tunisia to reach the playoffs.
“With all due respect to the French, we screwed you up tonight,” a fan said. Another fan added, “I thought it would be a miracle to win against the French team. It’s incredible, but nothing is impossible. That’s soccer!”
Reigning champions France will face Poland on December 4th despite a shock 1-0 defeat to Tunisia in their last group game on Wednesday, but still finished top of Group D.
