Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba demanded military and energy assistance from NATO members, during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, ahead of the North Atlantic Council meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Bucharest on Tuesday.
“We need air defence: IRIS, HAWKS, Patriots and we need transformers, when we have transformers and generators we can restore our system, our energy grid and provide people with decent living conditions which President Putin is trying to deprive them of,” said Kuleba.
“So in a nutshell Patriots and transformers are [sic what Ukraine needs the most and we discussing it here, in Bucharest, at the NATO ministerial,” he added.
For his part, Stoltenberg reiterated his accusation to Russia of weaponising winter in the war.
“We are all shocked by the indiscriminate attacks on the Ukrainian cities on the Ukrainian infrastructure, we see that President Putin is trying to deprive Ukrainians of water, electricity, heating, and lights, President Putin is using winter as a weapon, is weaponizing winter and that is just making it more important to support Ukraine,” he said.
