Hundreds of social and medical-social union members took to the streets of Paris on Tuesday to call for a strike and demand higher wages and better working conditions.
Footage shows activists holding placards and walking from the Solidarity Ministry building to the Place de la République.
“Many of our colleagues do not make the basic salary. They have to receive a compensatory allowance to reach the minimum wage level. Then there is a lack of space and reception in good conditions for the most fragile populations. This morning there was the psychiatric sector; it’s the same song,” said one protester.
Similar rallies took place in dozens of cities across France.
