Europol dismantled a cocaine ‘super-cartel’ and detained its drug lords in Dubai. A total of 49 people have been arrested in the operation across six countries, and 30 tonnes of drugs have been seized from them. The network was reportedly responsible for a third of the cocaine market in Europe.
Footage shows members of law enforcement forces in different countries carrying out operations to apprehend cartel members.
Members of the organisation transported drugs in containers from Panama to European ports, with superiors directing their operation from Dubai.
The international operation began in 2020 when a container containing 698 kilograms of cocaine was seized in the port of Valencia. In the process, the investigation led to the conclusion that the gang was operating not only in Spain but also in the Netherlands, France and Belgium, among other countries.
