For SEO or for other research purposes, sometimes, you do need to export Google search results to Excel or any other type of spreadsheet. While you can manually copy-paste all the search results, it’s time-consuming and not an efficient way.
In this blog post, let’s learn some cool tricks to quickly copy Google search results. By using the techniques mentioned in this post, you should be able to export the top 10 or even the top 100 search results within 5 seconds.
Let’s take a look…
Ways to export Google search results to Excel
The items here are in no specific order, you can choose the one that seems the easiest to you.
1. Use SEO Minion Chrome extension
SEO Minion is a free Chrome extension that you can use to export Google SERP quickly in a spreadsheet. And not just that, the extension also helps you with on-page SEO analysis, broken link checking, and more.
It’s very straightforward to use the extension for exporting search results. Here are the steps:
- Install SEO Minion from Chrome Webstore
- Google the term that you want to export the results for
- Select Download and All Organic URLs in the extension, and
- Click the Go button
Within seconds, all the organic search results will be downloaded to your computer as a CSV file. You can open the CSV file in Excel and can also convert it to an XLS file if you like.
If you explore the plugin, there are several other options to export specific types of data from the search results as well.
> If you want to copy more than 10 results at once, change Google settings to show 20, 50, or even 100 search results on the first page. You can learn more about this here.
SEOquake is another Chrome extension that lets you scrape Google search results in Excel quickly.
2. Use Results to Excel web app
Similar to how scraping with Excel is simple, Results to Excel is even simpler. It’s a web app that lets you download Google search results as an Excel file.
Type the term you want to export the results for, set the required filters, and hit Search. The top 10 results will appear within seconds, just scroll down and export all the results by clicking on the Continue to Download button.
3. Use SEO tools like SEMrush
While this is not the ideal approach, you can use most SEO tools to view and export the Google search results to your computer. For example, if you’re using SEMrush, then just enter your keyword in the SEMrush Keyword Overview tool and search.
Scroll down to the SERP analysis section, and now you will be able to export 1-10, 11-20, or more results by clicking on the Export button in the top-right corner.
4. Using automated web scraping tools
Automated web scraping tools are another way to scrape Google search results. Typically, these scraping tools need an additional setup on your computer but are easier to use and scale as compared to regular web scraping tools.
Some of these types of tools that you can use to scrape 100s of Google results within seconds are Bright Data, Octoparse, Parsehub, etc.
Once you set up the scraper, it starts opening Google search result pages for the searched keyword one by one and keeps extracting the search results on those pages. Within minutes, you can have 100s of search results exported.
Wrapping it up
I am sure there must be some other tools or extensions that one can use to export Google search results to Excel.
