Serbia: ‘There was no attacking at all’ – Belgrade fans disappointed after national team’s World Cup loss against Brazil

Football fans were disappointed after the Serbian national team’s loss in their FIFA World Cup opening match against Brazil, as they watched the game in Belgrade on Thursday.

Serbia defended consequently in the first half, however did not reach nowhere beyond the opponents’ defence. Brazil dominated Serbia in the second half, winning 2-0. Richarlison scored both goals; the first was a tap-in, while the second one, an acrobatic scissor kick, could become a contender for goal of the tournament.

“I think we were in this game a little bit like outsiders. We let them have the ball possession more and we could’ve played more offensive game and with more ball possession,” said Lazar, a football fan while speaking at an interview.

“They are stronger and better (than us). Kudos to our guys, they fought well. We will win Cameroon and Switzerland and we will go further” added another Serbia fan, Vladimir.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is taking place in Qatar, the first Middle Eastern country to host the tournament.
