Germany: Dozens of vehicles roll through Neubrandenburg to protest against energy costs

Dozens of trucks and cars participated in a motorcade throughout the streets of Neubrandenburg on Thursday, to protest against the government’s energy policies and sanctions against Russia.

“I don’t think that the energy costs and its increase are harmonious. Of course that can happen but these bankruptcies are destroying us,” a protester said.

In recent weeks and months, the rise in energy costs such as electricity and gas has put many companies on the verge of bankruptcy across Germany.

The government is planning a 200-billion-euro package to cap energy costs and reduce bills, shielding consumers from skyrocketing prices.
