Brazil: Fans rejoice in Rio as Brazil defeats Serbia 2-0 in World Cup opening match


Brazilian fans gathered in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday to watch Brazil’s opening match against Serbia at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Footage shows fans celebrating the Brazilian goals, which were scored in the second half by Tottenham Hotspur Risharlison.

Brazil dominated Serbia in the second half of their opening match, winning 2-0. Richarlison scored both goals; the first was a tap-in, while the second one, an acrobatic scissor kick, could become a contender for goal of the tournament. Serbia defended consequently in the first half, however did not reach nowhere beyond the Brazilian defence.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is taking place in Qatar, the first Middle Eastern country to host the tournament.
