Football fans gathered in Football Village fan zone in Brussels on Wednesday to watch Belgium’s opening match against Canada.
“Canada has waited 36 years for the first time at the world cup,” said a Canadian football fan Andrew. “Unfortunately we are playing against Belgium, a very good team,” he added.
The game marked Canada’s first game since 1986 in a FIFA World Cup.
Belgium went to win the fixture 1-0 and are set to to face Morocco for their second group match on Sunday, November 27.
