At least five people were killed and 18 injured in a shooting at an LGBT+ nightclub Club Q in Colorado Springs on late Saturday, as the police reported on Sunday.
According to Colorado Springs Police Department spokesperson Lt. Pamela Castro, police received an initial call of an active shooter at 11:57 pm.
‘Numerous officers and medical immediately responded to the area, and officers immediately made entry,’ Castro said.
The spokesperson added that police “did locate one individual who turned out to be the suspect.” According to Castro, the suspect is being treated at a local hospital.
She underlined that an investigation is in ‘the very initial stages’.
