Thailand: Protesters dressed as Winnie the Pooh rally against APEC in Bangkok

Dozens of protesters rallied in Bangkok on Saturday, disguised as cartoon character Winnie the Pooh, in reference to a derogatory nickname for the Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Footage shows protesters carrying signs and marching on the streets around the popular Siam Square shopping district, then pouring fake blood on themselves, while police officers guarded the protest.

The protesters, accompanied by a large number of journalists, later entered a mall where they posed next to an APEC logo.

Around 28,000 police were deployed during APEC summit, which is being attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and leaders from Japan, South Korea, Canada and Australia, among others.
