Ukraine: British street artist Banksy’s latest works spotted in Kiev

Urban murals by British street artist Banksy were seen in Kiev on Friday, with the shadowy, anonymous author confirming their authenticity.

Footage showed some of the works – a truck, a figure dancing and children playing on a tank barrier – painted on damaged walls and steps around the city, all in the artist’s distinctive graffiti-style. Traffic around the capital and destroyed buildings are also seen.

Banksy reportedly confirmed to The Art Newspaper that he had created seven murals in various locations in Ukraine, including the Kiev, the suburb of Irpin and the city of Borodyanka. These are the first public murals created by the artist in over a year.
