Protesters gathered outside Westminster hall shortly after UK finance minister Jeremy Hunt presented the new autumn budget on Thursday in London.
“We came here for the ultimate statement today and we wanted to hear what Jeremy Hunt was going to announce,” said a protester.
Footage showed protesters holding signs while commenting on the situation. Police officers guarded the protest.
“I think there is going to need to have an addition support on local authorities who do not have a very wealthy council tax back base,” said a protester.
The British currency reportedly fell by 0.9 per cent after the statement; the chancellor revealed fiscal plans including tax hikes and spending cuts.
