Police cleared a refugee camp in central Paris on Thursday, evacuating hundreds of people.
Footage showed numerous police officers in riot gear entering a camp of tents beneath a bridge. The refugees collected their belongings and left the camp under the supervision of the officers and then boarded a bus together. An excavator was later seen clearing the camp.
The evacuation took place in the 18th arrondissement of Paris and police reportedly were at the scene from early morning. As many as 956 people were taken to safety according to the authorities.
