After the new ownership of Twitter by Elon Musk about 50 percent of company’s workforce from various departments and sectors have been laid off as acknowledged by company’s head of safety and integrity Yoel Roth.
Footage filmed on Friday shows a quiet atmosphere around and inside San Francisco’s headquarters after the newly-made decision by Musk to cut a huge fraction of staff.
The social media company mentioned through email to staff that the staff’s condition would be clarified by 9 am Pacific time on Friday (16:00 GMT).
“Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day,” Musk said in a Tweet.
The social media company employees have alleged that the layoff emails covered departments encompassing marketing and ethical AI, communication, search, public policy, wellness and so forth.
This sharp decrease occurred right after Elon Musk purchased the company for 44 billion dollars last week.
