The 112-metre-high Shiva statue ‘Viswas Swaroopam’ which is claimed to be the world’s tallest, was installed in Nathdwara town of Rajasthan’s Rajsamand, as footage captured on Sunday shows.

Inside the statue is a hall for devotees, accessible via lifts and stairs. Shiva is seated in meditation on a hill and can be seen from a distance of 20 kilometres. Such a monument took ten years to build.

“It feels great to be here. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to see this magnificent statue. The authorities in a very good city have boosted the tourism industry. Many people will come to see the Shiva statue,” said Jeeva Singh Charan, a visitor.

On Friday, October 29, preacher Morari Bapu held a ceremony to unveil the statue. Several religious, spiritual, and cultural events will be held to commemorate the event until November 6.
