Several thousand people took to the streets of Dresden on Saturday to demonstrate against rising energy costs among other things.
“I don’t know where I get the money for my bills. The rent is getting more expensive and the living costs too. I have to go to the streets. Nothing else works,” said a pensioner at the rally.
Banners and signs criticised the government’s policies all the same condemning military measures and demanding peace advocacy in Berlin.
According to the police, supporters of the ‘Querdenken’ movement were also among the protesters who had gathered on Theaterplatz.
Under the motto of “Peace and Freedom – Demonstration for Human Rights, Democracy, Separation of Powers and Political Liability”, the protesters then marched through the city centre.
