Nice book, just a little short
If someone could have read my mind on the exact period of fashion I am interested in, this would be it. Needless to say, I was very excited to receive this book, and it did not disappoint – the author ties in significant historical events and trends with fashion changes and does a good job of integrating it all. She uses technical language, and it reads very nicely. And she lists lots of resources for further reading.
There are only 2 things I wished after finishing this book: (1) that there were more pictures, and (2) that it was longer. The author does a great job of describing various styles and such, but I would have liked to have seen more of these depicted in photos/illustrations. And I did with there was a conclusion after the last chapter, but mainly, I enjoyed the book so much that I just wished there was more to read.
This is a great read for anyone interested in the history of fashion as seen through bridal attire/accessories. And lots of ideas for brides-to-be. Very cool. Recommended.

Awsome little book
Best Reference book I have ever bought to date wedding gowns. Clear wonderful photos w/dates & info. Detailed history of wedding gowns, bouquets, etc. or each era. I highly recommend this book as a reference guide which is why I bought it. It’s small but huge in info.

A happy find
This is a smart lovely book about bridal fashion in the U.S. during the first half of the 20th century. The photographs are priceless, the author does a very nice job linking world events to fashion. So fun to see covered head-to-toe Edwardians give way to 1920s flappers.
